Netherlands manager Ronaldo Koeman has stated that he is still dissatisfied with Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch’s refusal to accept a call-up to the U21s side.

Gravenberch has been left out of Koeman’s Dutch squad for the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against France (October 13) and Greece (October 16). This is despite the fact that the 21-year-old has impressed since joining Liverpool this summer.

Gravenberch joined Liverpool for £34.2 million from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. He has one goal and two assists in seven games for Jurgen Klopp’s team in all competitions. When he was called up during the last international break, the young midfielder chose not to join the Netherlands U21 side. After joining the Reds, he aimed to improve his fitness.

Koeman was dissatisfied with Gravenberch at the time and has alluded to it when explaining why he isn’t on his squad. He stated (as reported by The European) However, his recent performances for Liverpool have many people anticipating him to make Koeman’s squad. It appears that his refusal to represent the U21s is still causing problems.
