Following Darwin Nunez’s’miss of the season’ candidate against Union SG, Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool was seen reacting.

The Uruguayan, however, didn’t quite go according to plan as manager Jurgen Klopp only allowed him to play in the first half in order to preserve his alternatives for Sunday’s matchup against Brighton.Nunez wasted what appeared to be a simple opportunity to score and failed to register on the scoreboard.Nunez won’t look back on the goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota with fondness.Since completing his summer transfer from Bayern Munich on the final day of last month, Gravenberch’s goal was his first in a Liverpool uniform.
When discussing the Dutch midfielder’s play following the victory, Klopp said: “It’s really tough to retain rhythm in games like this, but it’s crucial.
Although we should have scored sooner, we instead scored in stoppage time.
“If we want to win contests, we should take use of our opportunities more frequently, but I’m not upset or worried about it. It’s the way things are. We are aware that we must improve.
It was a polished, mature performance. We got the outcome we desired, but we know we can improve.
