There was no denying the significance of the previous summer for Liverpool; adjustments were required, and they were in desperate need of new blood to inject new life.
They succeeded in doing so on both counts, and the season’s strong start—seven victories and a tie—has generated enthusiasm and early momentum for what lies ahead.
The ability of Klopp to reinvent himself has been the focus of all eyes, and the initial indications are promising. It will be welcome news to many to learn that the manager has been given “new energy.”
I departed, and a lot of changes were made without me because we would have had to replace the manager or players in different roles.
It’s not the first time I’ve been given the opportunity to oversee change, and I love it.The previous seven years were wonderful in every way, but we all need energy sources, and seeing these people’s faces every day as they embrace the new task gives me energy as well.
