When Liverpool played Leicester City, Dominik Szoboszlai once again stole the show, and a deal made this summer is already poised to free up a player Jürgen Klopp adores.
On Wednesday, Liverpool played Leicester City in the League Cup and won for the seventh straight game to maintain Jürgen Klopp’s unblemished record thus far this season. This season is already appearing to be far more promising than the Reds’ stumbling start from last year.
The frequency with which Liverpool has given up the opening goal may be the only minor cause for concern. It followed a very similar pattern against Leicester, with Klopp’s squad rebounding back and coming out a different team in the second half to secure a convincing victory.
Overall, despite conceding another early goal, Klopp can’t really fault his team’s performances. All of his recent signings struck the eye, and numerous young players also made an impression.
Dominik Szoboszlai, who entered the game and scored an incredible goal to give Liverpool the lead, stole the show and completely stole the headlines.
In the end, Liverpool defeated Leicester, and there were many standout performances that merited mentioning. Szoboszlai was the game’s main victor, but his supporting cast was equally as brilliant.
