Football’s pre-game address is frequently praised, but it’s debatable how much of a difference it actually makes.
Though it’s possible that Jürgen Klopp didn’t need to inspire his squad against West Ham for Liverpool. The Reds already had all the tools they required thanks to Michail Antonio. The Hammers striker spoke out a lot in the days before up to the encounter at Anfield. Antonio, who was obviously feeling good, predicted that his team will end the season ahead of Liverpool and triumph in Merseyside.
On the Footballer’s Football Podcast, he declared, “I am backing myself over Liverpool.” “You know what, I believe we will end the season ahead of Liverpool. I’m saying it publicly.Because it was before our game and Wolves could have easily won, I watched the Wolves vs. Liverpool game! They were given a lot of chances. This weekend, we have them, and it’s a six-pointer. We have them.
You must be able to walk the walk if you are going to talk the talk. Antonio firmly stated that he was unable.
His afternoon didn’t start well as he blew a clear chance in the first ten minutes, somehow misfiring with his header in front of the Kop with the goal at his mercy.
He didn’t bother Alisson again after that. He was kept under wraps by Liverpool, and when he touched the ball, there were a few boos, indicating that the Anfield crowd was aware of his statements.

Although there is nothing improper about a player displaying confidence, it is odd how many players appear to fall into the trap of announcing a result before they have ever begun to play.
Although Antonio’s misplaced optimism is undoubtedly not the first and most likely won’t be the final occurrence of this, his remarks do give a solid indication of Liverpool’s current state this season.
The Reds may seem vulnerable, but Klopp’s team is simply too strong and efficient to be written off. Although West Ham appears to be a better prospect this year, they still have a long way to go.
