At Anfield, a beautiful Curtis Jones goal was sadly disallowed by an accurate offside ruling.

In today’s Premier League match between West Ham and Liverpool at Anfield, Curtis Jones could consider himself unlucky not to have given Liverpool a 2-1 lead shortly before halftime.
The 22-year-old got on the end of a beautiful cross from Dominik Szoboszlai just after Jarrod Bowen’s goal cancelled out Mo Salah’s penalty, but he moved a tiny bit too early and was in an offside position when he put the ball in the back of the net.

The Reds midfielder’s superb finish, which saw him lash a precise half-volley past Alphonse Areola from the edge of the six-yard box, may have justified the call, which was marginally correct.

It was painfully unfortunate for Jones, but he still deserves praise for the caliber of the finish, which gives him lots of hope that he can soon repeat it on a game where it will be scored.
