The naming rights to the new Melwood home of the women’s squad are now part of the collaboration between Liverpool FC and AXA, which was first established in 2018.
With AXA aligning their commitment to both the men’s and women’s teams, the world-class facility will be formally branded as the “AXA Melwood Training Centre.” The men’s team will call the AXA Training Centre home starting in 2020.
The team of Matt Beard moved into their new residence earlier this month as they continue to get ready for the new campaign before their opening match against Arsenal on Sunday, October 1.
All players now have the opportunity to practice and compete at their highest levels, which supports the Club’s continuous commitment to growing the women’s squad and girls’ academy.
The world-class training facility will also be used for community outreach programs run by the award-winning LFC Foundation and for the Fowler Education and Football Academy (FEFA), which will educate young people.
We are thrilled that AXA has seized this chance to deepen their partnership with the organization, and it comes at a momentous time for our women’s squad, who now have a great new home at the AXA Melwood Training Center.
At AXA, we think that being a woman shouldn’t put you at danger in any area of your life, including sports, work, and health. This training facility is more evidence of our dedication to women.
