Liverpool overcame Wolves with the help of Jurgen Klopp’s replacements for another Premier League victory, but the first half revealed the manager is still getting used to his new set of playing cards.
Since they have not lost in 16 games, Jurgen Klopp’s team is on the right track. Liverpool looks to be in a strong position to stay competitive as the season goes on with four victories out of five.
However, both the coach and his team are still developing. Only approximately half of Liverpool’s starting lineup for the 2019 Champions League final are still considered first-choice, and Klopp has not yet finalized his ‘Liverpool Reloaded’ plan.
The manager and his players have shown in the early going of this campaign that they are prepared to contend for championships, with the Reds’ revitalized midfield playing a key role in that.
13 points from the first 15 available can without a doubt be considered a success, but by May, Klopp will need to improve upon some of his early-season errors if Liverpool is to stay within striking distance of Man City, if not ahead of it.
Horses for courses, I believe, is the phrase used to describe how Liverpool should play this season, taking into account the opposition, the players available, and their current form.
Like in the 2021/22 season, the changeover between the first and second XI should be as smooth as possible. We could succeed if the team can work as a single entity.
