Trent Kone-Doherty, a gifted young player for Liverpool, has opened out about the sacrifices he made to get to the club and insisted that it is his desire to one day be a fully-fledged member of the Reds’ first squad.
The 17-year-old forward moved from League of Ireland team Derry City to Liverpool last summer and had a successful debut season in the Premier League North before moving on to the UEFA Youth League.
However, the Republic of Ireland youth international’s debut season was cut short when he missed the final few months of the year due to an ankle injury he acquired in a loss at Manchester City in February. Despite the setback, Kone-Doherty’s stellar play for Liverpool’s under-18 team earned him a promotion to train with the first team this summer, where he crossed paths with players like Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, and Luis Diaz.
