Norwegian striker Sophie Roman Haug has now joined LIVERPOOL FC Women for an unknown sum.
The Reds made Haug their sixth acquisition of the summer by transferring her from Roma for an unknown price.
After being welcomed by the club, Haug expressed his excitement to be there and his eagerness to get started.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in what may be the biggest league in the world. We’ll be a difficult squad to beat if we start strong and gain momentum.
The striker was a player LIVERPOOL had been keeping an eye on for a while, according to manager Matt Beard: “Sophie’s a player we’ve been monitoring for a few years now, even back to her time in Norway.” She can score all different kinds of goals, has great movement in the area, and is an excellent goalscorer.
“She clearly had a great World Cup, coming off of being at Roma and playing on a league-winning squad. At 24, I believe Sophie comes to us at a great moment and is exactly what we needed: a goal scorer with an established track record who is still eager to improve.
