Given that certain employees have already returned to the Anfield Road End site, any potential acquisition of Buckingham Group’s stadia section won’t have an effect on Liverpool.
The £80 million Anfield Road End reconstruction project’s construction company filed a notice to appoint administrators last month, leaving the Reds in a precarious situation as a result of the expenditures associated with other delayed projects.
The Buckingham Group decided to halt operations immediately, and employees were removed from all of its locations, including Anfield, while efforts were made to locate a buyer.
Although talks are in their early stages, the ECHO believes that interest has been expressed in the contracts that have not yet been novated, including the stadia section. But even if the stadia section is bought, Liverpool have now officially severed ties with Buckingham Group in the wake of the latter’s entry into administration earlier this week, which resulted in the loss of 446 jobs.
