Ryan Gravenberch, a new midfielder for Liverpool, decided to focus on his responsibilities with the Premier League’s biggest clubs rather than accept a call-up to the Netherlands Under-21 team.
For the 2025 Under-21 European Championship, the Dutch Under-21 squad will compete against North Macedonia and Moldova.
Gravenberch would not be a part of the Dutch Juniors for the forthcoming games, according to an official announcement from the Dutch squad.

In September’s international matches, the Liverpool midfielder has told KNVB coach Michael Reiziger that he wants to concentrate on his new club and won’t be available.
The 21-year-old box-to-box midfielder for the Netherlands has played for both the senior and Under-21 teams, earning 11 caps in total.
Notably, he wasn’t chosen for the FIFA World Cup in 2022. After being unable to participate in Ronald Koeman’s Nations League finals campaign, he played for the youth team during the Under-21 European Championship.
Gravenberch has decided to stay in Liverpool and devote his time and efforts to his new club after once again being left out of the senior Netherlands team.
Gravenberch’s choice just strengthens his will to fit in well with Liverpool’s midfield and have a big Premier League influence.
The Merseyside club lost stalwarts like Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and James Milner, therefore the former Ajax player has a huge part to play.
Wataru Endo, Alexis MacAllister, Gravenberch, and Dominick Szoboszlai have all been signed by Liverpool as they attempt to remodel their midfield and recover from a poor 2022–23 season.
