According to manager Jurgen Klopp, Ibrahima Konate will miss Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League game against Aston Villa owing to an injury.
The French center-back is battling with a muscular issue that also prevented him from playing against Newcastle United the weekend before.
Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s captain, will also be absent for the forthcoming game against Aston Villa at Anfield.
The skipper will miss the crucial game on Sunday after getting sent off for a foul on Alexander Isak during the game against Newcastle.
 Two key center-backs will be missed by the Reds, who will be hoping that they return swiftly after the international break.
During the pre-game press conference, Klopp was questioned about the status of Konate’s injury. He said, according to the club’s official website:
Ibou won’t be prepared for the game, I’m afraid. The remaining items are all still available.
