Salah, the most well-known Arab athlete in the world, is expected to fetch a bid from Al-Ittihad worth about £118 million, according to reports.
According to the report, Jurgen Klopp would be incensed if a trade occurred before the transfer window closed and the Reds have no intention of cashing in on the Egyptian international. But it’s also been said that Al-Ittihad feels they’ve gotten enough encouragement from the player to think he’d be open to offers.
Al-Ittihad could make a late move for Mohamed Salah, which could affect Liverpool. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has offered his opinion on the likelihood that a surprise last-minute transfer could be completed before Friday’s 11 p.m. transfer deadline.
Saudi Arabian clubs have a history of acquiring Premier League players during the summer transfer season, but they may be keeping their biggest surprise for the very end.
Similar factors apply to Liverpool’s company and finances. Salah has started his final two seasons of his deal at the age of 31. The former Fiorentina and Roma star went on to have possibly his most dismal Premier League season to date after signing the £350k per week contract in the summer of 2022, even though he still registered 19 goals and 12 assists and Liverpool missed out on a Champions League position.
But Sheth doesn’t think Liverpool will accept a deal at this point in the transfer window.
Sheth admitted he would be “very surprised” if Salah left Anfield right now, but he continued by stating that many clubs on the continent will be on edge in September due to the Saudi Pro League’s transfer deadline, which falls seven days after the European one.
