Divock Origi, a former Liverpool striker now playing for AC Milan, is attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Burnley, Fulham, and Sheffield United.
Burnley is reportedly interested in signing Belgian attacker Origi, who Jürgen Klopp has referred to as a “Liverpool legend” and who is expected to leave Milan after just one season. Origi put on a show during Liverpool’s successful 2019 Champions League run, but since leaving Anfield, he has failed to recapture that form, netting just two goals for the Rossoneri the previous season.
Origi has played 36 times for Milan in all competitions throughout his time there, however just ten of those appearances have been as a starter. The 25-year-old is currently looking for a new opportunity this summer, and Serie A clubs Bologna, Torino, and Udinese are all interested in hiring him.
However, Origi might make an unexpected comeback to the Premier League with newly promoted Burnley. According to the Mirror, Origi’s former teammate on the Belgian national team, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany, is reportedly interested in signing the striker.
Origi has long been held in high respect by Klopp, who has praised his finishing skills. In fact, the German coach previously said of Origi, “If he were at any other club besides Liverpool, he would be a regular starter.” He added that the forward is one of the best finishers he has ever seen.
