As they continue to seek Mo Salah, the Saudi team Al-Ittihad is reportedly preparing to make a move for the Ibrahima Konate of Liverpool.
Throughout the summer transfer window, Saudi Arabian clubs have pillaged the Reds. While Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino joined Al-Ahli at the end of his contract, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho joined Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ittihad, respectively.
Before the end of the transfer window, Liverpool can still lose more players to Saudi clubs. Ittihad has a significant interest in Egyptian forward Salah. They have promised to make him the highest-paid player in the league and are prepared to make Liverpool a sizable offer as well.
Joe Gomez is also of interest to the reigning Saudi champions. He is not the only Liverpool player who is being looked at. According to French outlet RMC, they are also interested in defender Konate. It has been reported that he is an alternative to compatriot Jean-Clair Todibo – who is said to have already rejected a huge offer to stay with current club Nice. Konate, 24, arrived at Liverpool from German giants RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021. Since then, he has gone on to make 55 appearances for the Reds but has struggled with injury during his time at Anfield.
The French international still has three years left on his contract with the Merseyside outfit. The UK transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday night but Konate’s future could still remain uncertain after that.
