The Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team is undergoing significant roster changes ahead of the 2025–26 season under head coach Jon Scheyer. Following a strong 35–4 campaign and a Final Four appearance, the team is experiencing both departures and new additions.
Departures:
NBA Draft Entrants: Freshmen Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khaman Maluach have declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. Knueppel, who averaged 14.4 points per game and earned ACC All-Freshman and All-ACC Second Team honors, is projected as a top-10 pick.
Transfers: Several players have entered the transfer portal: Jeremy Roach (transferred to Baylor), Jaylen Blakes (Stanford), TJ Power (Virginia), Sean Stewart (Ohio State), Jaden Schutt (Virginia Tech), Christian Reeves (Clemson), and Mark Mitchell (Missouri).
Graduation: Center Ryan Young has graduated.
Returning Players:
Tyrese Proctor: The junior guard returns as the team’s primary facilitator, bringing experience and leadership to the backcourt.
Caleb Foster: After a freshman season cut short by injury, Foster is back and expected to play a significant role.
Incoming Transfers:
Maliq Brown: A forward from Syracuse known for his defensive prowess.
Cameron Sheffield: A versatile guard/forward from Rice.
Sion James: A guard from Tulane bringing experience and depth.
Mason Gillis: A forward from Purdue expected to contribute immediately.
Incoming Freshmen:
Cameron and Cayden Boozer: Sons of former Duke star Carlos Boozer, Cameron is a highly touted forward, and Cayden is a skilled point guard.
Isaiah Evans: A 6’6″ guard/forward from North Mecklenburg High School in North Carolina.
