The New England Patriots have two games remaining in the 2024 NFL season.
Tomorrow, they host the Los Angeles Chargers, followed by a season-ending home game against the Buffalo Bills.
If the Patriots lose both matchups, they will secure no worse than the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Additionally, they’ll enter the offseason with significant salary cap space, giving them an opportunity to make major improvements for the next season.
While much of the focus is on upgrading the wide receiver position and offensive line, the team must also address its pass rush.
New England has struggled to generate consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks throughout the 2024 season, making the addition of an impactful pass rusher a top priority.
With that in mind, here are three free-agent pass rushers the Patriots should consider signing:
Chase Young (New Orleans Saints)
The former No. 2 pick from the 2020 NFL Draft could provide a significant boost to the defense. This season, Young has posted 27 tackles, 5.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and two passes defended over 15 games with the Saints.
While he hasn’t fully lived up to his pre-draft hype, Young still has plenty to offer. If the price is right, he could help improve the Patriots’ pass rush and strengthen their defense.
Khalil Mack (Los Angeles Chargers)
Bringing in a seasoned veteran like Mack could be a game-changer for New England. If the Patriots believe they can contend in the next two seasons, signing Mack to a two-year deal would be a smart move.
Mack remains a proven star, showing strong production with the Chargers this season and proving last year that he still has plenty left in the tank. He would provide a reliable presence on the edge for the Patriots.
