New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who overcame a serious health issue earlier this year, is now being sidelined once again.
Barmore missed the beginning of the season after being hospitalized with blood clots, which required extensive treatment. He eventually returned to action in Week 11.
However, the Patriots released a statement on Thursday confirming that Barmore is now experiencing recurring symptoms that required further medical evaluation. As a result, he has been placed on the reserve/non-football illness list.
Since his return on November 17, Barmore has appeared in four games, recording six tackles and one sack.
The 25-year-old is considered one of the top players on New England’s defense. He signed a four-year, $83 million extension earlier this year following a breakout season in which he set career highs with 16 quarterback hits and 8.5 sacks.
