The Green Bay Packers are currently 8-3, despite Jordan Love missing some time due to injury.
However, one of their key players, Josh Jacobs, is predicted to miss out on the Pro Bowl roster. In his Pro Bowl predictions, FanSided’s Nick Villano listed Saquon Barkley, Chuba Hubbard, and Bijan Robinson as the three NFC running backs, leaving Jacobs off the list.
Jacobs ranks third in the NFL in rushing yards and has been crucial for the Packers, especially when Love was sidelined. Head coach Matt LaFleur relied heavily on Jacobs, particularly with Malik Willis stepping in as quarterback.
Jacobs, who signed a four-year, $48 million contract in free agency, has exceeded expectations after the team moved on from Aaron Jones.
Although Barkley is expected to make the Pro Bowl and could even be an MVP contender, Jacobs has a strong case to be included over Hubbard and Robinson. Hubbard, currently sixth in rushing yards, is on pace for a 1,000-yard season, but Jacobs outperforms him in both rushing yards and touchdowns, along with more receiving yards. Villano praised Hubbard for his impressive play despite the Panthers’ struggles this season, noting that he deserves Pro Bowl recognition.
The Pro Bowl roster is determined by votes from fans, players, and coaches, with each group contributing a third of the total vote. While Jacobs may prefer to focus on a Super Bowl run, he certainly deserves the recognition for his outstanding season.
