Despite Lions Joyful Thanksgiving Win, Lions Loses Offensive Star with 2 defensive linemen to injury vs. Bears

The Detroit Lions defense suffered more setbacks during their Thanksgiving matchup against the Chicago Bears.

In the first half, the Lions lost two key defensive linemen: defensive end Josh Paschal and defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike, neither of whom returned to the game.

Paschal exited after an awkward fall while pursuing Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. Initially listed as questionable with a knee injury, he spent time testing it on the sidelines but was eventually ruled out. Al-Quadin Muhammad and rookie Mekhi Wingo stepped in to fill his role.

Later in the first half, Onwuzurike left the field with a hamstring injury. He headed to the locker room with just nine seconds left in the half, and when play resumed, he was officially ruled out.

The Lions’ defensive line is already shorthanded, with Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, John Cominsky, and Kyle Peko on injured reserve. The hope is that these latest injuries won’t result in extended absences.
