Coming off a victory over the Chicago Bears last week, the team had high morale and confidence.
Drake Maye and the New England Patriots entered today’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams with hopes of securing their second consecutive win.
Unfortunately, the Patriots fell short, losing to the Rams 28-22. While the loss stings, it also helps New England maintain or improve their draft position.
A highlight of the game was Maye’s fourth-quarter touchdown pass to offensive lineman Vederian Lowe—a memorable “big man” touchdown moment.
Maye continued to impress despite the loss, completing 30 of 40 passes for 282 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The interception occurred on the game’s final drive as Maye tried to push the ball downfield. Once again, the rookie showcased his superstar potential and gave fans reason to be optimistic about the future.
Defensively, however, the Patriots struggled to contain Matthew Stafford. The Rams’ quarterback had a dominant performance, completing 18 of 27 passes for 295 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. It’s difficult to win when allowing an opposing quarterback to post those kinds of numbers.
On a brighter note, Kendrick Bourne delivered a strong performance after being benched last week. He caught five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown, providing a significant boost to the offense.
While this loss is disappointing, the Patriots showed they could compete, staying within six points of a talented Rams team.
Next week, New England will hit the road for an AFC East rivalry game against the Miami Dolphins. They’ll look to bounce back and secure their fourth win of the season in Week 12.
