The Cleveland Browns are expected to be active sellers leading up to the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 5, having already traded wideBrowns, Bills Linked to Blockbuster Trade for Star Defender receiver Amari Cooper. There are even rumors that defensive star Myles Garrett might be available.
But would the Browns really overhaul their roster? If so, linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah could emerge as a surprising trade candidate. Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus suggests the Buffalo Bills as a potential landing spot. Locker writes, “If Cleveland wanted to reset, moving Owusu-Koramoah could be a smart move. Though he signed a three-year extension in August,kool trading him wouldn’t be as difficult as it seems… Cleveland and Buffalo have made deals before, so another trade isn’t out of the question.”
With linebacker Matt Milano out, the Bills could use the help, and Owusu-Koramoah would be a major asset for their defense.
Although Cleveland extended Owusu-Koramoah before the season, circumstances have drastically changed for the team. So, is trading him realistic?
It’s likely more plausible for the Browns to trade Owusu-Koramoah than Garrett, last year’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Owusu-Koramoah, 25, has already recorded 54 tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble in seven games this season. Coming off a 2023 season where he tallied 101 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two interceptions, he earned a Pro Bowl nod. Given his youth and production, he would likely bring in a significant return in any trade deal.
