Following another loss on Sunday, a 20-16 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, dropping the Browns to 1-5, head coach Kevin Stefanski firmly stated that they will stick with Deshaun Watson as the starting quarterback. This decision came despite the offense failing to score 20 points for the sixth straight game and extending its streak of scoreless drives to 29. Former Browns offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz is unhappy with this, taking to X to voice his frustrations on behalf of the locker room he once was a part of.
“It’s incredibly unfair to the rest of the team,” Schwartz began, expressing sympathy for his former teammates Joel Bitonio and defensive star Myles Garrett, who are sacrificing their bodies for a quarterback who no longer seems effective.
Schwartz’s perspective as a former player, especially his connection with Bitonio, adds depth to the conversation. Having played for Cleveland from 2012-2015 before moving to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he won Super Bowl LIV, Schwartz has a unique insight into the team dynamics.
