The Cleveland Browns had a rough start to the 2024 NFL season, struggling against the Dallas Cowboys and losing 33-17. Deshaun Watson had a tough game, the defense underperformed despite some later improvements, and the offensive line was poor.
Despite this setback, the Browns still have the potential to turn their season around. Analysts are already eyeing the 2025 NFL offseason and draft. According to a recent mock draft by NFL Draft Network, the Browns are projected to select Texas A&M pass-rusher Nic Scourton with the No. 17 overall pick.
Scourton, who started his career at Purdue before transferring to Texas A&M, had a standout 2023 season with Purdue, recording 50 tackles, 10 sacks, a forced fumble, and three defended passes. At 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, he offers a versatile edge-rushing option and could complement All-Pro Myles Garrett effectively.
Though the 2025 draft is still a long way off, Scourton would be an intriguing addition for the Browns if available when they pick.
