Packers kick two red-zone field goals after two Jalen Hurts’ turnovers

Both the Eagles and Packers have made early mistakes in Friday night’s game in Brazil.

The game has been messy so far, with six accepted penalties totaling 52 yards. Additionally, both teams had 12 players on the field simultaneously, leading to offsetting penalties that erased a 38-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Jayden Reed on the Packers’ opening drive.

Green Bay had to punt after a false start by Zach Tom on a fourth-and-six play.

The key issue so far has been Jalen Hurts’ two turnovers.

Hurts threw an interception on the Eagles’ third play, with Xavier McKinney picking off a long pass intended for DeVonta Smith. McKinney returned it 17 yards to the Eagles’ 19-yard line. A holding penalty by Rasheed Walker then stalled the Packers’ drive, resulting in a 31-yard field goal by Brayden Narveson.

The Eagles turned the ball over again on their second possession’s third play when Hurts was caught off guard by the shotgun snap. Devonte Wyatt recovered the fumble at the Philadelphia 13-yard line.

However, the Packers couldn’t capitalize on the turnover due to a holding penalty and an offensive pass interference call. They settled for another field goal by Narveson, this one from 23 yards.

The Packers lead 6-0 near the end of the first quarter, despite having run 22 consecutive plays in Philadelphia territory.
