According to Aaron Wilson, the Packers are adding FB Andrew Beck to their practice squad on Friday. Additionally, Green Bay has signed DB Kamal Hadden and RB La’Mical Perine to their practice squad, while RB Nate McCrary has been placed on the practice squad injured list.
Beck, 28, began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Patriots after graduating from Texas but was waived before the preseason ended and subsequently claimed by the Broncos. Initially a blocking tight end, Denver shifted him to fullback. He re-signed with the Broncos for one year in 2022 but later signed a two-year, $6.2 million contract with the Texans. However, he was among the final roster cuts this week.
In 2023, Beck played 15 games for the Texans, catching 11 passes on 13 targets for 55 yards and two touchdowns. He also had three carries for five yards and one touchdown, and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.
