Fans in disagreement as Pundit blast Liverpool star.
Mohamed Salah has once again been key for Liverpool as they continue to challenge for the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp but one former Red is not particularly convinced.
Former Liverpool star Paul Ince has claimed that Mohamed Salah is NOT world class technically despite his stunning goalscoring recSalah has also broken the 30-goal barrier in the majority of his seasons at Anfield – and looks set to keep that up this season. He was once again on the scoresheet in the weekend’s 2-2 draw with fierce rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Despite that, Ince – who played for both clubs during his career – does not believe that Salah is among the world’s best from a technical standpoint. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: “Is he a world class goalscorer? Yes. I think his record speaks for itself.
Is he a world class player, technically? I wouldn’t say“I think sometimes when he cuts in on his left foot, putting balls into the box, they are not great. But as a far as a world class player scoring goals and making things happen, I think yes.”Ince’s suggestion is a direct retort to Jurgen Klopp’s comments about Salah from earlier this season.
The German was full of praise for the forward last month ahead of their prior trip to Old Trafford in the FA Cup – a game they ended up losing 4-3.
Klopp said: “Mo is pure quality. Ask him what he likes most about Manchester United but the more we talk about it the less likely it will happen again.
Exceptional guy, a world-class player and how we dealt without him was Unbelievable.
The boys did really well but it is better to have him around and on the pitch than just in the dressing room. We could build it now with his minutes and he is ready for Sunday (against United).”
Salah’s goal against the Red Devils on Sunday extended his brilliant record. He has now scored 11 goals against Man United in the Premier League – more than any other player including the league’s all-time record goalscorer Alan Shearer.
