Matthew judon wants to see baltimore ravens cornerback marlon humphrey take his skills to the new england patriots. On saturday, judon took to x, formerly known as twitter, to respond to a post by x account “@liveravensnation” on humphrey’s future with the ravens. Humphrey is expected to be a salary cap casualty this year, according to the ravens-based account. Eric decosta, the ravens’ general manager, hasn’t publicly discussed the possibility that the team will parted ways with humphrey, and there have been no reports implying that baltimore is considering such a scenario.
Judon isn’t opposed to seeing humphrey make his way to the patriots. “i like this move, i think the patriots 44 is open,” judon wrote on x. humphrey has three years left on his five-year, $97.5 million contract with the ravens in 2020. In each of the next three seasons, he has a cap hit of at least $11.750 million. If the ravens pull off a spectacular feat and release humphrey as a post-june 1 designation, they will save $11.750 million in cap space while carrying over $11.127 million in dead money for the 2024 campaign. Humphrey is coming off of an injury-plagued 2023 season.
He appeared in a career-low ten regular season games, although he missed time in the campaign due to foot and calf injuries. On the field, he was as efficient as he could be, only allowing one touchdown catch in coverage.
