The pittsburgh steelers are hoping to keep at least most of their pieces together this season, which includes players who may have been on their 2023 roster. With free agency approaching, the steelers are deciding which players they want to re-sign and which they’ll let go. They’ve already started securing cuts, releasing three players earlier this week. They’ll then choose which of their own free agents they’ll negotiate with, including one of their starting cornerbacks.
Chandon sullivan, a slot cornerback who was a part of steelers takeaways, said during an interview with ron lippock that he and the steelers discussed the future during their exit interview. After his solo year in pittsburgh, sullivan is expected to enter free agency. “i felt like i did the best with the opportunities i had.” I didn’t do as many snaps as i used to do, so that’s how it turned out schematically. “i took advantage of the opportunities i had on defense and on special teams,” sullivan said. “i hadn’t played a lot on special teams before, but i think i did a good job there.”
Before i left, the team told me that they would like to do more business with me, but who knows. We all know how the nfl operates. But, there’s no fear – i know i’ll end up playing somewhere.” Sullivan was the team’s starting quarterback on the depth chart all season, playing 17 games and allowing 22 tackles, one intercept, and six passes defensed. He only allowed 60.7% of passes to be completed on his way. The steelers currently have just joey porter jr., patrick peterson, darius rush, and cory trice on their roster.
