The new england patriots have found their new running backs coach.
According to cbs’ jonathan jones, the patriots want taylor embree to assist the offense.
From 2021 to 2023, he served as the new york jets’ running backs coach.
Embree, a UCLA wide receiver, has also played in the nfl as a player. He signed with the chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2012, but was cut at the end of the season. He turned to coaching when he was in his late teens.
Embree began as a graduate assistant at the university of nevada, las vegas in 2012, and returned to UCLA in 2013 and 2014 as a graduate assistant. In 2016, he was hired by the kansas city chiefs as a defensive assistant, but then joined the san francisco 49ers as an offensive quality control coach from 2017 to 2019.
In 2020, he returned to his college roots as the tight ends coach at colorado. Embree joined the jets in 2021 and stayed until the end of the 2023 season, but it was announced afterwards that he was not returning.
since signing alex van pelt as the offensive coordinator, the patriots’ offensive staff is starting to develop. T.c. : a.k.a. McCartney, ben McAdoo, Tiquan underwood, Scott Peters, and Robert Kugler are among the staff members. Mayo and Van pelt are in need of a wide receivers coach and a tight ends coach.
