It’s super bowl week, and neither Bill Belichick nor his new england patriots are out there.

Regardless of how good of a head coach defensive guru jerod mayo may be, the patriots need a franchise signal caller if they want to be a threat in an afc east that features josh allen, tua tagovailoa, and a rebuilding aaron rodgers. Eliot wolf, the newly promoted general manager, should start his tenure by taking a quarterback. he was the third overall pick in the 2024 nfl draft.
After all, it was the quarterback that separated new england from the pack for all of those years. Following four of those six title game victories, brady earned super bowl MVP honors.
Realistically, the rebuild was supposed to begin in 2020 when brady walked out the door. Allen and the bills have dominated the afc east for the past two seasons.

The bills were never stopped by belichick’s vaunted defense on that day, with allen leading touchdown drives on all seven of the team’s possessions until the final series that ended in victory formation. The patriots haven’t been a serious contender in four seasons, a long way from where they once were. Belichick went out with a whimper when he didn’t have his quarterback. Wolf and co. are now off to a new start.
