As senior bowl week wraps up with saturday’s all-star game, one of the early stages of the nfl draft process has come and gone. As many players worked to improve their draft stocks during practice and in the game, it’s likely that a future patriots player would participate at some point during the week.
New england has a system in which players have played in the game, including five players who participated in the 2023 senior bowl last year. Two of the patriots’ last three first-round picks were also selected in the senior bowl (cole strange and mac jones).
So, here are five players who stood out this past week that might make sense as potential draft picks for the patriots if the patriots choose to add a more proven veteran quarterback and avoid selecting one with the no. 1). Rattler, a 3rd overall pick, could be a good option to add a young, backup quarterback in the early rounds of the draft. in mobile, alabama, the south carolina quarterback had the best week of all the quarterbacks, including michael penix jr. and bo nix.
Rattler impressed scouts and draft assessors with his decision-making and accuracy during the tests, allowing him to become the top quarterback of the american team during the tests. Rattler continued his impressive play during the game, completing all four of his passes for 65 yards. On a deep, 29-yard touchdown pass to georgia wide receiver marcus rosemy-jacksaint, he made his best throw of the day.

Roman Wilson WR
MichiganWilson made some impressive plays that earned rave reviews from Mobile evaluators in both practices he attended. NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah wrote that Wilson is “very explosive” and Brugler wrote that the Michigan wide receiver can play corner.
On deeper, off-balance routes, Wilson showed off his strong hands in addition to showing excellent speed. One of the highlights of the week was Wilson’s one-handed catch as he was falling down the sideline. The Senior Bowl appearance seemed to help Wilson’s draft stock. That’s because he didn’t get much of a chance to penetrate Michigan’s running backs. Serious violation. Although he had just 48 receptions in 15 games last season, Wilson made big plays as soon as he got the ball in his hands. He had 789 receiving yards and 12 receiving yards, including the game-tying field goal, in Michigan’s Rose Bowl win over Alabama.

Georgia WR Ladd McConkie
The former Bulldogs wide receiver continued his consistent play from his college days at the Mobile practice range last week and into Saturday’s game.
McConkie’s route running stood out among draft evaluators, with NFL Media’s Eric Edholm calling him “an alert runner who attacks defenses with a well-defined route plan.” Social media, McConkey does a quick split on a short route before going down for some one-on-one drills. Unlike Wilson, McConkey played in Saturday’s game.
He recorded just one reception, but was able to create separation on routes even when he wasn’t throwing the ball to the target.
