What is it about wide receivers? It must be because their success is so dependent on the quarterback, but it always seems that they are the most temperamental player on a team.
George pickens, the new pittsburgh steelers wide receiver who seems to be letting his diva show is the most recent one.
Pickens was only targeted twice against the atlanta falcons on sunday and only had one catch for two yards. He was clearly frustrated with the lack of targets and expressed his displeasure on the sidelines at one point during the game. In the meantime, the steelers won their second game in a row, and the steelers’ offense was solid. But quarterback kenny pickett’s lack of teamwork, as we’ve already discussed, would be a problem on tuesday.
when asked about pickens’ conduct, head coach mike tomlin defended his receiver. Tomlin said, “i’d rather say whoa than sic ’em.” “i want a guy who can be a part of what we do” sounds great right now, but tomlin isn’t going to let this flourish without limiting it. Pickens comes into the nfl with a ton of talent, but there have been questions about his maturity.
