General manager brian gutekunst announced wednesday that the team had suspended cornerback jaire Alexander for one game for doing something detrimental to the team.
Alexander’s conduct during the coin flip led to the team’s week 16 victory over the carolina panthers. Alexander has been officially added to the green bay reserve/suspended list. “the decision to suspend a player is never an easy one, and it should not be taken lightly. We were disappointed to take this action because of jaire’s conduct before the game in carolina, according to gutekunst. “as an organization, we have an expectation that everyone puts the team first.”

They say, ‘you mean defer?’ and i’m like, ‘yeah, i guess.’ “you have to look at it with the guys,” lafleur said, “before they go out there every time about, ‘hey, we win the toss, we’re going to defer.’ i went to the officials before the game, made sure they knew what we were going to do.”
We had an incident earlier this year where we were in a similar situation, so we were always trying to be proactive in that regard.” alexander was back for his first game back after being sidelined for six games with a shoulder injury. Since throwing five passes last season, the 26-year-old is coming off his second pro bowl season.
