Liverpool icon Daniel Agger has revealed how he turned down a move from Merseyside to Manchester City in 2012.

Then another offer came from a much higher place and they accepted it and I didn’t want to go to that club.I told him: “If you want to sell me I will go there (Barcelona), if not, I will not go”.
“There was another offer from that club (City) and I had the feeling that the club wanted me because they had a lot of money at the time,” he said.Agger told Liverpool: “I’m not going to this club so I’d better quit now.”
Aldridge asked Agger if “that club” was City, to which Agger replied “yes”. Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has been announced as Fleetwood’s new manager.
