Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate gave an interesting answer when asked if he could imagine himself wearing a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) shirt at some point during his career.
The Parisians have built a player base focused on attracting players for the French national team. A key player for Didier Deschamps’ Les Bleus, Conat could be the perfect signing for the Ligue 1 giants. Konate has revealed his dream is to play for a French club. But the defender agreed it is not one of his priorities at the moment. Konate tells Canal (quoted by Get French Football) Ibrahima Konate has been a key player for Liverpool since joining the Merseysiders in 2021, making 64 signings. This season, he played a key role in defense and appeared in 11 matches.
Konate has also represented France 12 times at international level. With PSG being the most talented French club, there could be a real possibility of Liverpool star Konate joining the Parisians in the future. But for now, as the 24-year-old himself says, that’s not on his agenda.
Despite having a star-studded squad of late, the Reds have struggled to establish themselves as a force in European competitions. Domestic dominance remained largely consistent, but the UEFA Champions League eluded the capital club. With a squad full of talented French players, it will be up to Luis Enrique to lead this season.
Les Parisiens are currently second in Ligue 1 with 24 points from 11 games, one point behind leaders OGC Nice. Enrique’s men are currently top of Champions League Group F with six points from three games.
