Mikaela Shiffrin Respond to Lindsey Vonn’s Blunt Message For Everyone…

Lindsey Vonn reached a significant milestone in her skiing comeback over the weekend.

At 40 years old, Vonn secured a silver medal in the super-G event at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho, on Sunday. She finished 1.29 seconds behind Switzerland’s Lara Gut-Behrami, who claimed gold. This marked Vonn’s first podium finish since March 15, 2018, and her first medal since announcing her return to competitive skiing last year after a five-year break.

Reflecting on her performance, the three-time Olympic medalist emphasized how much the moment meant to her. “When I started this, no one expected me to even crack the top 30. I hadn’t raced in World Cups for six years, I have a partial knee replacement, and I’m 40 years old,” Vonn said, as reported by OutKick.

“I always believed in what was possible, but as much as I love skiing, the journey has been incredibly tough. I’ve faced setbacks—physically, mentally, and personally—but I always find a way to get back up. It’s not easy. In fact, it’s unbelievably hard. But success comes from pushing forward, step by step, even on the hardest days. And when you do that, you find yourself in moments like today.”
