The Browns have officially announced that Tommy Rees has been promoted to offensive coordinator.
Reports about Rees’s promotion surfaced earlier this week.
“Tommy has an exceptional football mind,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said in a statement. “He’s incredibly intelligent and has been immersed in the game his entire life. Before joining us, he established himself as one of the top assistant coaches in college football.
“Last season, he transitioned into our tight ends room and worked with our passing game seamlessly.
Despite the uncertainty at tight end due to injuries, Tommy did an outstanding job, ensuring his players were prepared for gameday—even in situations where they had only been with the team briefly.”
Rees, 32, joined the Browns in 2024 as a pass game specialist and tight ends coach after coaching at Alabama and Notre Dame.
“Innovation is a crucial part of offensive game-planning, and Tommy brings that,” Stefanski added. “Our goal is to create a dynamic and effective offense, and I’m excited to collaborate with Tommy to revamp the Browns offense for 2025.”
