Brock Vandagriff announced his retirement from football earlier this week, as reported by Jon Hale of The Lexington Herald-Leader.
The decision marks the end of his collegiate career, despite having one year of eligibility remaining.
A standout in the Bulldogs’ 2021 recruiting class, Vandagriff set numerous passing records at Prince Avenue Christian School. However, he was unable to secure the starting quarterback role during his time at Georgia.
After limited playing time from 2021 to 2023, the Bogart, Georgia native entered the transfer portal and eventually joined the Kentucky Wildcats.
In his single season at Kentucky, Vandagriff completed 57% of his passes, throwing for 1,593 yards and 10 touchdowns. Despite these contributions, he was benched as the Wildcats struggled through a disappointing season.
While Vandagriff has not yet revealed his plans for life after football, he leaves the sport with a communications degree from the University of Georgia and a strong reputation for leadership both on and off the field.
