The New England Patriots will enter the NFL offseason with several roster needs, but none may be as urgent as addressing the wide receiver position.
The Patriots likely have the weakest receiving corps in the league, making it almost certain they’ll prioritize this area during the spring.
So, who might the Patriots target?
While Tee Higgins is often mentioned as a potential addition, other names are in the mix. Justin Leger of NBC Sports Boston suggests DeAndre Hopkins as a possibility.
“The Patriots lost out on Hopkins during the 2022 offseason. Perhaps the chance to work with a promising young quarterback could persuade him to sign next spring,” Leger noted.
Hopkins started the 2024 season with the Tennessee Titans before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in October. So far, he has recorded 32 receptions for 373 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games.
However, there are a couple of obstacles to a potential Hopkins deal.
First, New England should focus on adding younger talent.
