New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye has contributed $10,000 to the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss. The donation is aimed at supporting relief efforts in Maye’s home state of North Carolina following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.

Jeff Jellets, the Territorial Disaster Coordinator for the Salvation Army’s Southern territory, expressed gratitude for the contribution, telling Reiss, “Entire communities have been destroyed, and thousands of lives disrupted. These additional resources are a blessing, enabling us to continue our response efforts and assist in the recovery process.”

Hurricane Helene struck the Southeastern U.S. in late September, leaving extensive destruction in its wake. North Carolina suffered significant losses, with at least 103 fatalities and damages estimated at $53.6 billion.

Maye, a 22-year-old native of Huntersville, N.C., played college football at the University of North Carolina before being selected third overall by the Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft.
