Given the seriousness of his condition, Barmore hasn’t been able to play this season as he prioritizes his health. However, it now appears he may be close to returning to the field.
At a press conference on Wednesday, head coach Jerod Mayo provided an update, saying Barmore could resume practice this week or next. “There is a chance that he would be able to practice this week or next week,” Mayo noted. “We could get him back soon.”
Barmore’s return would be a major boost for the Patriots. He’s been a key player in the heart of New England’s defensive line for the past couple of seasons.
In 2023, Barmore played in 17 games, recording 64 total tackles, 8.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and six defended passes.

In April, Barmore signed a major four-year, $84 million extension with the Patriots, securing his role during his prime years.
