“I don’t know, I’d be lying if I told you I did,” Thornhill said. His answer doesn’t necessarily imply a desire to leave; rather, he may not be sure if the Browns plan to re-sign him.
Thornhill, now 29, has been a valuable asset to the Browns over the past two years, but recurring injuries have limited his playing time.
So far this season, he has only appeared in four games, tallying 20 tackles and a pass defended. He hasn’t been able to make the impact the team expected, which may lead Cleveland to move on from him this offseason.
If they choose to part ways, the Browns will likely seek a replacement, whether through free agency or the 2025 NFL Draft, though they could still opt to re-sign Thornhill.
