Could these three Browns players be on the trading block?
Za’Darius Smith, EDGE
Za’Darius Smith could fetch a good return for the Browns if they decide to trade him. He’s one of the top names in the market, and the Detroit Lions are a logical landing spot, as they look to fill the void left by Aidan Hutchinson’s absence.
Smith, who previously played in the NFC North with the Packers and Vikings, remains a productive player at 32. A fourth- or fifth-round pick could be a reasonable exchange for him, though he’s not seen as a long-term piece in Cleveland.
David Njoku, TE
David Njoku has become one of the most reliable offensive assets for the Browns and could be a valuable addition for teams like the Denver Broncos. Known for his consistency at tight end, Njoku is still just 28 and might bring the Browns a significant return if traded.
If the Browns are planning for a QB reset in 2025, they might consider keeping him to support a developing quarterback, though his trade value remains strong.
Nick Chubb, RB
Set to be a free agent in 2025, Nick Chubb recently made a comeback from a major knee injury.
Although he’s one of the league’s top pure runners when healthy, questions linger about his long-term durability. After scoring last week and likely getting a heavy workload in Week 9, Chubb might attract interest from teams like the Dallas Cowboys in need of a running back.
