In the first quarter of the Indiana Fever’s loss to the Connecticut Sun, play was briefly halted as Clark pointed out a fan to the referees. Security approached a man wearing a collared shirt and lanyard for a conversation. Video circulated of Clark telling teammate NaLyssa Smith about the incident. The WNBA issued a statement condemning racist, threatening, or derogatory comments towards players and teams.
They stated that appropriate measures, potentially involving law enforcement, would be taken to address any threats.
