The WNBA’s 2024 season has seen remarkable growth, highlighted by record television viewership and attendance, as well as a surge in sports betting activity.
BetMGM reported a 108 percent increase in WNBA betting, with double the number of women participating compared to previous seasons.
Caitlin Clark, the standout rookie for the Indiana Fever, has been a key driver of this interest. She led in betting activity, with six of the top eight most-bet games involving her team. Prop bets on Clark far surpassed those for other players, including fellow rookie Angel Reese.
Hannah Luther, a sports trader at BetMGM, noted that Clark’s emergence as a star, alongside veterans like Breanna Stewart and A’ja Wilson, has significantly contributed to this growth. She highlighted consistent interest in Clark’s props and Fever moneylines, anticipating continued excitement into the postseason.
As the Fever wrap up their regular season against the Washington Mystics, Clark’s historic rookie campaign has been marked by breaking two records: setting a new single-season assist record with 317 assists and achieving a rookie scoring record with 761 points, surpassing Seimone Augustus’s previous mark.
