The Cleveland Browns had a rough start in Week 1, suffering a 33-17 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys with their offense struggling throughout the game.
This poor performance has led to speculation that the Browns might consider trading some players, with wide receiver Elijah Moore being a potential candidate. Moore, who is in the final year of his contract, is now the No. 3 receiver behind Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy. In the season opener, he managed only three catches for nine yards.
Devavrat Kulkarni of NFL Analysis Network included Moore in a list of potential trade targets for the Cowboys. Kulkarni points out that Moore’s opportunities might be limited in Cleveland due to the presence of Cooper, Jeudy, and tight end David Njoku, as well as the emergence of Cedric Tillman, who could compete with Moore for targets this season.
Last year, Moore had his best season, recording 59 catches for 640 yards and two touchdowns in his first year with the Browns as the No. 2 receiver. However, with Jeudy now on the team, Moore’s role has diminished. The Cowboys might benefit from adding Moore to their receiving corps, especially since Brandin Cooks has not lived up to expectations since joining the team before the 2023 season.
While it’s too early for the Browns to make major roster changes, their Week 1 performance has certainly raised concerns.
