SÃO PAULO – During the post-game press conference, head coach Matt LaFleur was expected to provide some clarity following a concerning moment involving Jordan Love during the final seconds of the Green Bay Packers’ 34-29 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
However, LaFleur did not offer any additional details. He simply stated that he had no new information to share.
When asked for an update on Love’s condition, LaFleur responded, “I don’t know.” A subsequent inquiry about the specifics of the situation received the same response — LaFleur chose not to disclose any details, if he had them.
Wide receiver Jayden Reed also addressed the media but had not yet spoken with Love.
Love experienced discomfort after a play in the last minute and had to leave the field, with backup Malik Willis taking over to complete the game.
The Packers will return to the U.S. on Saturday and are set to play the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field on Sunday of Week 2, marking their home opener.
Jordan Love finished the game with 17 completions on 34 attempts for 260 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, recording an 82.9 passer rating. The Packers have two other quarterbacks on their roster: Malik Willis, who entered the game and was acquired shortly before final cuts, and Sean Clifford, last year’s fifth-round pick, who is on the practice squad.
The Packers waived seventh-round pick Michael Pratt, who subsequently joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad. Green Bay has the option to sign him from the Bucs’ practice squad to their active roster if desired.
