The New England Patriots will face the Cincinnati Bengals missing one starter.
Left guard Sidy Sow is out for the season opener due to an ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week. Meanwhile, three Patriots are listed as questionable, including running back Antonio Gibson.
Here are the remaining game statuses ahead of Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Paycor Stadium:
OUT
Patriots: G Sidy Sow (ankle)
Bengals: OT Amarius Mims (pectoral), DT Kris Jenkins (thumb)
Sow has been sidelined since the preseason finale against the Washington Commanders, where he was ruled out after 32 snaps. The 2023 draft pick from Eastern Michigan made 13 starts as a rookie last season. In his absence, reserve linemen Nick Leverett, Zachary Thomas, and practice squad player Michael Jordan are expected to step up. As for Cincinnati, two of their top draft picks have been ruled out after missing Friday’s practice.
DOUBTFUL
Patriots: None
Bengals: WR Tee Higgins (hamstring)
Higgins, a two-time 1,000-yard receiver, went from full participation to limited before being sidelined with a hamstring injury, making him doubtful for the opener against the Patriots.
QUESTIONABLE
Patriots: RB Antonio Gibson (hip), OT Vederian Lowe (abdomen), LB Joshua Uche (foot)
Bengals: WR Ja’Marr Chase (rest)
Gibson was added to the injury report on Thursday with a hamstring issue but was a limited participant in practice. Lowe is managing an abdomen injury, and Uche, dealing with a foot issue, practiced fully on Friday. Patriots TE Hunter Henry, DE Deatrich Wise Jr., and several others are expected to play without injury designations.
